It is undeniable that AI is here to stay, unless AI becomes the Terminator and then Mad Max roams the earth soon after, lol as the kids say.
You don’t need to hear from me about the power and potential for AI and it is all very daunting and yes, I do use it as well yet not for any of my personal writing.
That said, today, I recalled some difficult and interesting moments for myself this past year.
With respect to my difficult moments, dealing with family issues, trauma, future considerations and even grief, not once did I think to turn to AI for guidance.
At times it was friends, family, co-workers and even my peer-support groups I talked to. Sometimes, I even talked to myself.
With respect to the interesting moments that came up this past year, I was told about a few people I helped in the last decade in a work context and how they relayed their appreciation for that help.
The helpful decisions and actions were not typical, they were out-side-the-box and tailored to each situation and person. In other words, they were not cookie-cutter.
I truly believe AI would have not given these ideas in the past and just to make sure, I tested it recently, and yes, the answers AI gave were a cookie-cutter ones.
There is so much that AI can do to help us as human being and as a society, yet let us not forget, we still have a great deal of value, especially for real human interaction, to listen, to provide empathy and yes, to give hugs.
And, real hugs feel amazing.
I'll be back :)
